i'll make this short and to the point...I should have died in a bicycle crash involved with a motor vehicle at the age of 14. Some entity spiritual was not willing that I should die and caused my balloon tire to become wedged in a storm drain grid bringing me from 30mph to 0 instantaneously; flipping the bicycle over onto it's handlebars and jamming my shins onto the pedals. I was knocked unconscious by the sudden stop but my head stopped .25 inch short of being smashed on the storm grate which held my bicycle rigidly in place preventing me from T-boning the vehicle in front of me travelling perpendicular to my projected path. Though I could not extricate myself from my two-wheeled prison, I did walk away(with the help of a cycling friend) from the experience with only small pieces of skin chaffed from my shins by the pedals...but no loss of blood...and I rode the bicycle a mile and a half home as no damage occurred to it!
