Twenty years ago, if you were a psychic, medium or spiritual expert who wanted to reach thousands of people, you probably needed a television studio. I know because that was my world.
For more than a decade, I presented, produced and trained talent in interactive psychic television, including Psychic Today. We had studios, producers, presenters, phone lines and viewers watching from their living rooms, often building genuine relationships with the psychics and experts they watched regularly.
It was a fascinating time to work in broadcasting because we were watching something quite new happen. People who may previously have worked with one person at a time suddenly had the opportunity to communicate with thousands.
Of course, being brilliant at what you did didn't automatically mean you knew how to do it on television. Part of my job was helping people translate their expertise into broadcasting.
Now, all these years later, I think something very similar is happening again.
Except this time, the television studio is in your pocket.
## A New Generation of Spiritual Broadcasters
TikTok LIVE has created an extraordinary opportunity for Psychics, Mediums, Tarot Readers, Astrologers, Spiritual Teachers, Coaches, Therapists and Wellbeing Experts. You no longer need somebody sitting in a television company deciding whether you deserve airtime. You can switch on your phone and potentially begin building an audience yourself.
What hasn't changed is that there is a big difference between being brilliant at what you do and knowing how to broadcast it.
I saw this constantly in television. Somebody could be an incredibly gifted psychic but initially struggle in front of a camera. Another person might have extraordinary knowledge but find it difficult to communicate that knowledge in a way that keeps an audience engaged. Somebody could be wonderful sitting opposite a client one-to-one and then completely freeze when faced with hundreds of people watching them LIVE.
That doesn't mean they aren't good enough. Broadcasting is simply another skill.
You can learn how to open a show, hold an audience, create conversation, involve viewers and structure a LIVE so that people have a reason to stay. You can learn how to relax on camera and allow your actual personality to come through rather than becoming a strange, overly polished version of yourself the moment somebody presses record.
This is why I find the current shift so interesting. There are enormously experienced practitioners who have spent years, sometimes decades, developing their craft, and suddenly the modern world is asking them to become content creators as well.
Learn hooks, understand algorithms, make videos, go LIVE, build followers, understand gifts, create a funnel and keep up with constant platform changes, preferably while still running the business you had before social media came along.
It is hardly surprising that some incredibly talented people look at TikTok and think, "Absolutely not."
But I don't think they need to become influencers.
I think they can become modern broadcasters.
## If We Want Social Media to Change, Good People Have to Take Up Space
There is another reason I feel quite passionate about this.
Social media can be an extraordinary force for connection. It allows us to discover ideas, teachers and communities we may never otherwise have encountered. It can educate, inspire and give a voice to people who would once have struggled to find a platform.
But let's be honest, it can also be a pretty dark place.
We live in an online world where outrage attracts attention, controversy creates clicks and sometimes the loudest, most shocking or least responsible voices seem to travel the furthest. Within the spiritual and wellbeing spaces, there is also a lot of questionable information, and it can be incredibly difficult for the public to know who is credible and who genuinely has the experience, training or integrity behind what they are saying.
I don't believe the answer is for conscious, ethical and genuinely gifted people to retreat from social media because they don't like what it has become.
If we want these platforms to change, then the ethical, authentic and gifted need to be willing to take up space on them.
We need to raise the vibration of these platforms by contributing something better to them.
That doesn't mean becoming louder, more controversial or playing the algorithm at any cost. It means being willing to be visible. It means sharing knowledge responsibly, creating thoughtful conversations, building genuine communities and showing people that success online doesn't have to come at the expense of integrity.
I want to see responsible Mediums, credible Psychics, experienced Therapists, knowledgeable Coaches, Spiritual Teachers and Wellbeing Experts becoming more visible.
Because if social media is going to influence how millions of people think, feel, learn and make decisions, I want to help make sure some really good people have a louder voice within it.
## Why I Created The Conscious Creator Network
My own career has taken a slightly unusual route through television, radio, interactive broadcasting, presenting, producing, training talent, therapy and personal development. When I began looking seriously at what was happening with TikTok LIVE, I realised that all of those seemingly different parts of my career suddenly made complete sense together.
So I created The Conscious Creator Network, a specialist TikTok Creator Network for Psychic, Spiritual, Metaphysical, Transformation and Wellbeing experts.
I didn't want to build another generic creator agency.

For me, that is the exciting bit.

How do those viewers become part of your community? How do they find out what else you do? If somebody loves what you are teaching, where do they go afterwards? Can they book a reading or session? Do you have a course, membership, event, retreat, product or service that could genuinely help them?
This is where I think many conversations about social media become too narrow. We become obsessed with followers and views without asking what those numbers are actually for.
TikTok should become part of your business. It shouldn't have to become your entire business.
That is why The Conscious Creator Network isn't just about teaching people how to perform better on LIVE. We want to help creators understand the wider business funnel around the audience they are building so that greater visibility can translate into greater authority, more clients and a sustainable business.
## What Happens When Conscious Creators Start Finding Each Other?
This is probably the part of The Conscious Creator Network that excites me most.
Imagine a Medium having a conversation with a Therapist, a Psychic meeting a Manifestation Coach, an Astrologer talking to a Human Design expert or a Spiritual Teacher introducing their audience to somebody working in an entirely different modality.
Instead of everybody endlessly competing for the same attention, creators can begin growing through each other.
TikTok LIVE makes those collaborations possible in a way that traditional broadcasting never could. We don't need to book a television studio, hire a production crew and convince an executive that an idea deserves a slot. We can create a format, bring interesting people together, see what happens and learn from the audience in real time.
Some things will work brilliantly. Some probably won't. That's broadcasting.

There is something quite lovely for me about all of this.
I spent years sitting in television studios watching the first wave of interactive spiritual broadcasting develop. People called into programmes, asked questions, had readings and formed relationships with presenters and experts they watched regularly.
The technology now looks completely different, but I don't think the human need underneath it has changed very much.
People still want connection, guidance and conversation. They still want to learn, ask questions and feel part of something. They still want access to interesting people who can introduce them to different ways of understanding themselves and their lives.
TikTok LIVE simply gives us a new way of creating that experience.
And this time the experts don't need to wait for a television company to give them permission.
